Yes, they are a little more expensive than your run-of-the-mill “penny” or “tin whistle”, but as with any musical instrument, you get what you pay for.   SHAW whistles are a sweet-toned instrument, individually voiced and accurately tuned to give maximum performance. The whistle is a tapered design, handmade in solid nickel silver sheet with a carved hardwood block to form the mouthpiece. Length 32cm. They are constructed using lead-free solder.
